Pre-exercises
Minimise using contacts and glasses
Contacts can rub out the protein in your eye and both mean that you're not using your eyes properly so they don't get used to seeing on their own.
Where to do these exercises
It is best to do these exercises with natural sunlight
Relax
Seeing clearly is effortless. You shouldn't need to force or strain your eyes (which will worsen your vision) to see anything clearly. If you are tired just remember to relax and palm (below).
Flexibility exercises
Zooming in and out
Using either your thumb or finger in the centre of your face slowly move it closer to your face than out until you can't make it out clearly. If you can't see it try to focus on the tiniest detail on your thumb or finger to try to maintain clear vision as it moves out or in.
Clockwork stretch
Using your thumb or finger at the resting position imagine that a clock is in front of you with 12 hour hands. Track your finger as it moves to the 12 then back to the centre, move your finger to the 1 then back to the centre, then move your finger to the 2 then back to the finger etc. Afterwards, do it in reverse.
Close than far/ Far than close
Look at something close to you that you can see clearly, such as your finger than something far away. Afterwards, do it in reverse.
You may use a pencil or pen for these exercises.
360 stretch
Using your eyes only move your eyes as far as possible out clockwise than counter clockwise. You may also stretch out in the 12 hr direction then reverse in the 6 hr direction.
Sunning
Sunning when you close your eyes as tightly as possible and face the sun so that your eyes get use to the sunlight.
DO NOT FACE TOWARDS THE SUN WITHOUT KEEPING YOUR EYES CLOSED
Palming
Close your eyes and cover them with your hands after an exercise. This is to help relax them. Remember you shouldn't need to strain to see a thing. Try not to rub your eyes as it will squish your eyeballs out of position.
If you would like me to try out any more exercises, I will happily feature them in my next post.
Results
Start: At the beginning I could only see the G at 1.5 metres.
End: I get flashes of clear vision when I relax and do a few eye exercises when looking at the chart. The more I try to focus the more the blur gets, but the more I relax the more clarity I get. I can make out the W and V on the second line and the G and S on the third line. My vision has definitely improved albeit only the tiniest bit.
