This post features a community farming activity in Aceh, how the paddy harvest process is done traditionally and moves forward following a very fast technological development.
As seen in some of the pictures below, it is an activity that still leaves a traditional impression of paddy harvesting in the paddy fields by every community, but in the past 5 and 20 years this has been done with a very traditional process, but a sense of togetherness work while harvesting is higher, while lately farmers in aceh have begun to accept a teknogi in the world of agriculture, such as paddy cutting machine with a car shape like a tank car.
If calculated on the financial, time and physical advantages of the harvesting process by using technology more profitable for every farmer, but in this case there is something that feels lost in the farming community in Aceh, in particular, it is a sense of togetherness has been eroded in the cause of work with very fast, economical and efficient machines, very different from the past 15 or 20 years in cutting paddy should use traditional tools such as scythe and require members in working 5 to 8 people to cut paddy in paddy fields.
If steemians friends allow a little time for me to tell my childhood about agriculture then here I will try to tell a little about the harvest process as mentioned above, if you see now the paddy harvest takes only 2 or 4 hours most long it depends on the size of the small rice fields owned by each farmer, while during our childhood paddy harvest takes up to 3 days during the paddy harvest, the first day of the process of cutting, the second day the process of collecting paddy that has been cut, a piece of paddy called NIBAY by aceh people, unfortunately NIBAY can not be captured by my camera, NIBAY become a bundle paddy that has become memories in our childhood.
And on the third day the farming community did the paddy milling process to put in the sack, this is called CEUMELHOE by aceh people, at this time we as small children on 20 years ago often make small camps while blowing trumpets made of stalk paddy beside pile paddy that will be milled, after all it is finished we will play in a pile of paddy straw that forms like a mountain or small hills.
Such is a sweet childhood memories in the paddy harvest process 20 years ago, the rest of the memories now in paddy harvesting are still visible when farmer members call sack paddy to be brought home.
In fact, many other things have been lost on the sidelines of the rapid development of the era, but it is very common and must be accepted by the entire peasant community because many other positive things that can be taken from technology, time and circumstances have taught many things, while memories have become a solid and beautiful monument in the heart of every one who feels it.
Let's look at some pictures below:
* in the first picture seen a car that was doing activity cut paddy
* in the second picture is seen a member of a farmer who was carrying sack paddy on his shoulder, also seen some people behind him, this atmosphere is illustrated the past 20 years.
* in the last picture see a woman sitting on a sack paddy harvesting atmosphere in my childhood.
