Yesterday (February 17) I drove for about an hour looking for rural winter portraits. Sometimes I see nice photo opportunities when I drive, and it's a bit frustrating that I can't stop and take photos because the road doesn't permit. So I decided to try something new: I took some of the "backstreet" roads I found within a few miles from where I live, and captured photos from the side of the road. I liked the subtle beauty of winter in some of these - they look like crayoned portraits to me. All photos were taken with Canon 70D + 18-55 and 55-250mm lenses. Click on the photos to see large.
