Japan's Aokigara jungle also known as Warios Woods or Sea of Trees, is a mysterious terrain. It is situated at the foot of the Fuji Mountains of Japan. This jungle located in 3,500 hectares of space is full of curls and twisting plants. Local people believe the whole area is free roaming land.
Unfortunately the place is known as the world's second largest suicide spot. The reasons why it sees so many people take their lives are complicated. It is not only riddled with tourists every year, but also spirits of the dead who call the haunted forest home. Since the 1950s, more than 500 people have committed suicide here. This jungle is known as the place of suicide for Japanese people. Almost hundred of bodies were recovered from here every year. According to the Japanese records, up to 1988 there have been one hundred bodies per year. In 1998, 78 bodies were found. In 2003, the number reached 100. Later in 2004, 108 people killed themselves here. In 2010, there were only 54 people who took the suicidal attempt to about 247 people. Now the country's local government has stopped publishing this account.
It is written in the entry of this forest to relieve the suicide - "Your life is an precious gift from your parents," and "Please consult the police before you decide to die!" It is the world's second most popular place to commit suicide.
