The irony of life... Less than two days since I shared this post about the idea of using a flip phone nowadays, my smartphone I was using died.
For almost ten years now I have been using my brother's phones he didn't need when he got new ones. First he gave me an iPhone 5 and then I took Samsung Galaxy s6 Edge with a shattered screen that I didn't mind at all since it didn't affect the phones functions. Even though I was using Samsung for a couple of years now and got used to it, I always kept iPhone as a backup and my Nokia flip phone as probably my favorite phone I ever had. I am not sure what happened to Samsung, I was about to charge it before I go out and the charger just wouldn't fit. I tried with my mom's charger that usually works for my phone too but this time it didn't fit. It seems like something inside the charging part on the phone broke or got damaged.
Since I had to get ready and catch a bus, I didn't have time to transfer some of the photos I took those days and I thought me or my brother would be able to fix the problem but that didn't happen. I could probably take to someone to fix it but when my brother told me the price they ask for it, I was like 'never mind'. :) I have more important things I would rather spend my money on. So back to the iPhone 5 I went. It's a lot smaller than most smartphones I've seen around and it did took me a couple of days to get used to it. I also had to install a lot of apps and some of them (like Instagram) I can't even install since the software is too old and I don't have an option to update it. Maybe that's good, less apps means less distractions.
As I was already missing few days worth of photos for #myweekinphotos that got stuck on Samsung and all the ones I have since I switched phones are just covers of library books I've been reading, I am skipping sharing photos for this week altogether and I'll just start taking photos tomorrow for the next week's entry. It's funny how I thought I wouldn't fail at sharing these post this entire year just to be proved wrong within the first month.
Even though it did bother me when it happened, I have just accepted that things like this are part of life. I also thought that the Universe is maybe trying to give me a sign as this happened just after I shared my flip phone post, haha. I am not someone who invests in technology that much, especially phones (as you could probably tell from this post) but I do try my best to take care of it so it can last me a long time, even if I get them old or broken. :)
This was one of a few small 'bad' things that happened in a span of a couple of days but it's all good now. I am glad I can leave this week behind and start fresh tomorrow! Hope you're having a joyful Sunday!
