Nano S

So I’m looking to buy a Nano S to put some litecoin on each year for my nieces birthday. Then when she turns 18 she will have atleast 18 litecoins. Doesn’t seem like much but who knows how expensive they’ll be 18 years from now. My only question is once I give it to her will she be able to plug it into her computer and have access to the coins? Or will it be locked to my computer?
