Below are some photos of Galleria Umberto I of Napoli (Naples), Italy.
Galleria Umberto I is part of the listed World Heritage Site of Naples and was built between 1887 and 1891 during the reign of King Umberto I of Italy.
Umberto I became King of Italy in 1887 and was assassinated in July of 1900.
The galleria itself is cross-shaped with a glass domed ceiling and open to the public 24 hours per day.
It's located a short walk from Piazza del Plebiscito, consisting of the Royal Palace and the Basilica di San Francesco di Poala.
As you can see, it has quite a stark contrast in feel depending on the hour of the day.
During the day it's brightly lit, while at night, it's lit from lights hanging from the metallic framing of the ceiling.
The architecture of the galleria is quite resplendent at any hour.
If you ever get the opportunity to experience Naples, take a stroll through Galleria Umberto I...then get some pizza!
