We eat a lot of dried apricots all year around and fresh apricots in the summer. We add apricot to Moroccan dishes. We also eat apricot jam and apricot yoghurt. The most delicious apricot I ever tasted was in Turkey. For weaned babies, dried apricots can be soaked overnight and then chopped so that they are more digestible.
Apricots are highly nutritious, sweet and sometimes a little tart. The skin contains a lot of the fibre and nutrients.
Apricots are a good source of vitamins A, C, E, potassium and antioxidants. They have anti-inflammatory properties.
The fruit is reputed to promote eye, skin and gut health, to be hydrating and protect your liver.
