Agricultural land preparation or conventional tillage consists of several operations, which must be carried out in a certain order of succession. Since plowing or primary tillage represents the main operation of soil structure improvement, it is essential that the plowing work be carried out in the best possible way.

The moldboard plow, one of the oldest tools for tilling the soil, consists of a plowshare, a moldboard, a blade or disc, a heel and a frame on which all the elements are mounted and which houses the hitch system with the traction.
The moldboard lifts, turns and crumbles the prism of soil cut by the blade and the coulter. As it advances over the soil, it moves the soil prism in a spiral and turns it totally or partially to the right, over the previous furrow.
Tillers, also called rototillers or rotary cultivators, consist of a transverse axle connected to the tractor's power take-off, from where it receives the turning movement in its grain.
On its shaft are mounted small discs spaced every 25 cm, to which, with screws, are radically executed four to six blades that can be straight, angled or helical.
