In the preparation of Bocashi compost, any type of organic material can be used, if the production process of this compost is properly managed. Thus, some of the materials that have been used successfully are.
▶ Plant-derived materials, corn flour, rice hulls, bean waste, rice straw, soybean cake, cottonseed cake, sugarcane bagasse, chopped weeds, coconut fiber, sawdust, vegetable waste and food processing waste, banana, orange, yam and cassava waste.

Materials of animal origin, fish meal, bone meal, manure of any animal, kitchen waste, crab shell or other similar material. The addition of charcoal or charred rice hulls is recommended, as these porous materials improve the physical conditions of the soil, increase the capacity to retain nutrients and serve as a home for effective microorganisms.
In addition, the use of organic fertilizers contributes significantly to the care of the environment by helping to preserve the health of the soil, helps to obtain healthy and quality food, in addition to the fact that this process makes use of materials or waste which individually would not serve for anything before, on the contrary, would be an additional burden to the environment.
Therefore, the use of this type of materials in the elaboration of organic fertilizers contributes in one way or another to protect the environment, simultaneously avoiding complications in crop yields or harvests, this allows to guarantee the agri-food processes.
