#313 - A black millipede on a leaf.
There's one time when we managed to get out of the Metro to climb a mountain just north. The travel time on early four am took only less that two hours getting to the trail registration. We rented a car to bring us to Mount Arayat and the travel was smooth, no checkpoints at all at that time. Anyways, after registration we were accompanied by two kids as our guides. They were sons of our contacts and they know the trails and this is one way for them to earn a living while there was no school year yet.
So to cut it short, they have stronger legs and are faster climbing up😅. As we gets older our legs are also declining but we still managed to get to the peak in q short span of time compared to other hikers which the kids compared.
Since we are on the peak, we rested there for some time and I also look around for my subjects, tiny critters which are unnoticed by most. But it is their time to shine this time. I saw this black millipede on a green leaf, my index finger is closed by so we can have a baseline about its size.
It was curious and went near my finger and that is why I decided to remove it on the leaf so not to disturb the nature's balance that is going on. You know, we don't want to touch them as much as possible but just appreciate them without contact.
So it is still looking down and maybe this time trying to figure out how far he is from the ground. Most of the time I see this kind of critter on the grounds where there are decays going on particularly from decaying leaves. So i wonder what made it decide to come up as high as this leaf. Maybe it just wanted to see the view from up here😅.
Here is a closer look of our friendly little critter. It has those spiky yellow horns on its back going all the way down to its bottom.
