#729 - Mount Samat Shots for Sunday.
Happy New Year dearest Hiveans. We are now a couple of hours away from unfolding the next chapter. Early this morning my wife and I went once again for the last time this year at the university near us for a ten kilometers of brisk walking. She did well and sweat lot while I didn't got much sweat out of my body maybe because the temperature is not hot. Nonetheless, our calves and foot had been tested. Then on our way home we stopped by for some coffee along the way. Then my father called me because they were in the hospital as my mother has high blood pressure so she rushed him there. I also went to visit them and then bought the medicine needed or prescribed by the doctor. I stayed with them til dinner and went back home. They will also go to the province this coming Friday because my mother wants to be back home already, she miss doing her stuff at home back in the province.
For our daily shots, we got here several scenes taken when we went to Mount Samat for a stop over after our one night of stay at a beach in Zambales. We left early so we could stop by in this world war two memorial place. We got here past lunch time or twelve and then when we reach the gate pf the place we had to pay three dollars for the entrance fee and parking fee. Then we walked up all the way to the giant cross.
There's an asphalt road laid going to the cross it self but visitors are not allowed to drive their vehicles there, the only way up is to walk for some challenging distance. Once we were up at the summit, my wife and I took several shots while the phone is on the ground. The shot covered the whole part of the giant cross which is engraved with different works of art related to the previous world war which our country has become part of.
We even squat down for a good shot😅. There is an elevator going to the top of the cross but up til now, it is still not fixed. We visited here way back years ago but it was still not working since that time.
There's also this large cannon that is facing somewhere the sea area. It's big and there's some part of it that are already ruined, thanks to paint the metal will still last life time for other generations to see.
This just basically said that the cross was built during the Marcos time in 1966.
Then here's a selfie of us together with the cross and our national flag in the background. This is the last part of the tour, we went down from the summit using the zigzag trail carved in the mountain just right below the cross.
