Hello friends
Welcome to a little part of my life...
My name is Nuro. I am lucky to live in paradise 🏝️
A tiny town called Nimbin on the east coast of Australia
Also known as the marijuana 🌿capital of Australia 🤪
Home of the annual MardiGrass Law Reform March/Festival
(which I am ambivalent about). I grew up here, but mostly in Byron Bay. I got to have the best of the bush and the beach. I don't like how Byron has changed with the insane tourism, but back in the 90's and 00's,
it was HEAVEN ON EARTH....
I love living in the Nimbin area aka The Rainbow Region 🌈
Misty morning rolling Nimbin hills... A photograph I took and then messed with the colour.
I am an artist. I studied art a few years ago where I learnt printmaking, oil painting and drawing. Traditional printmaking is my passion, I yearn hard for a printing press (10k 🤑ugh)... Buy my art! Buy my art!
I am inspired by many things, but mostly by nature and the psychedelic aesthetic. I love the fusion of natural and digital. I really love creating stuff with my hands and then using technology to change it, warp it...
to trip it the fuck out! The only downside to that is...they are stuck in the stoopid devices! So that is my next mission, getting my art out into the world.
I make art because I feel too, not to make money (working on that tho), unfortunately marketing oneself and creating products to sell seem hard for a lot of artists, myself included. I'm working on an art print website idea atm.
Printmaking is hard but good, it makes your brain think upside down 🙃
Super happy with this drypoint etching on acetate plate print... took me about 15 attempt prints to nail this and I decided that this technique was too fiddly, as it's super hard to see the littlest ink marks on the see-through plastic plate....
Using a photo of the print on my Huawei phone, I used a combo of Mirror Lab and Diana Photo (double exposure) Apps to manipulate my original image to create some rad tripness...
My other main art passion is COLLAGE. The old school kind... a scalpel, mat board and pva glue, painstakingly cutting around images until my eyes bleed!
This one I called "The Edge Of". Next post I will showcase them...
So keep an eye out!
I met amazing artist at a party recently and he suggested I check out ecency. Do yourself a favour, check out his page. 2.5 years ago I decided to finally give fuckfacebook the flick, best decision I have ever made! I've kinda missed having a place to share my art, inspiration, wonderful/useless opinions and random musings.
I've come to realise that I actually have a lot to share...
I'd like to get it out of my head and my computer. This forum seems like a life enhancing way to express myself in this organic/digital existence we are riding by the seats of our pants (what a wack saying btw).
Freedom of speech, yada yada ...fuck yeah, I'M IN!
I will be using ecency to showcase my art, photography, writing and to connect with like hiveminds. If I've intrigued you and you wanna see more... give me a follow, reach out... constructive comments are always welcome!
I hope you enjoy my trip!
