As I walked down to my swimming hole after work Friday, I came across not one, but two Painted Turtles in the grass.
I could've left them alone and kept walking, but I thought my boys would really like to see them, so put them in a bucket and brought them home after my swim in the creek. They were both surprisingly docile. I have caught Painted Turtles in the past that were feisty and ready to bite anything within reach.
The baby wasn't very interested in the turtles. But the cat was. (You can barely see her checking out one of the turtles on the right-hand edge of the photo.)
