Hello Steemians! This is my first post, so please bare with me :-) My name is Daniel and I live and work in this beautiful small country which holds 5% of the world's Biodiversity, Costa Rica! I have been outdoors most of my life and have been lucky enough to get to know some of the most amazing here. My passion is to help people get to know my country and share my culture and have a great time.
Today I want show you one picture of each one of our 7 Provinces:
San Jose
One of the city's landmarks, the National Theatre was built in the late 1800's, reminds us of a golden era when we started exporting coffee to Europe which caused a great affluence in our economy and influence in architecture to the city.
Alajuela
This is one of the coolest shots I've taken I think. Arenal Volcano in La Fortuna, showing off an almost flawless standing lenticular cloud.
Heredia
The reward after an hour and and half hike through amazing cloud forest, this beautiful waterfall at the Cerro Dantas Wildlife Refuge, at the base of the Braulio Carrillo National Park, home of the Tapir and the mighty Jaguar.
Guanacaste
With an array of pristine coves and beaches, surf brakes and volcanoes this North West province is favourite to surfers and wildlife lovers. Punta Islita
Limon
Relax with caribbean vibes in Punta Uva and this male three-toed Sloth, taking a break to drink some water and show us the beautiful patch on his back, which has scent marking glands which attracts female sloths.
Cartago
At 11,260 feet above sea level is the top of the Irazu Volcano, on a clear summer morning you can see the Pacific and Atlantic Oceans from here. Main crater bottom left, and a nice view of the summit of the Turrialba Volcano in the background one of the most active right now.
I hope these pictures light your nature and adventure spark, or who knows, maybe they brought back some memories!! Please let me know what you think of my post and I will be posting more about each province and awesome places all around the country.
Remember, stay Pura Vida
Daniel
