Purtroppo non sono riuscito ad andare a fare due passi al fiume oggi, quindi ho pensato di darvi qualche informazione sul fiume Oglio, un fiume molto importante per il nord Italia e soprattutto per la provincia bresciana.
Unfortunately I was unable to go for a walk to the river today, so I thought I'd give you some information on the Oglio river, a very important river for northern Italy and especially for Brescia.
La sua lunghezza raggiunge i 280km, nasce grazie ai suoi due affluenti che si incontrano a Ponte di legno, il Frigidolfo e il Narcanello, per poi sfociare all'interno del Po.
Una cosa importante da sapere è che questo fiume forma anche il lago di Iseo, molto famoso soprattutto dopo l'evento "the floating piers" che ha portato migliaia di turisti.
Its length reaches 280km, it was born thanks to its two tributaries that meet in Ponte di Legno, the Frigidolfo and the Narcanello, and then flow into the Po. Sin dal medioevo questo fiume veniva conteso tra le maggiori potenze del nord Italia finché fu costruita la diga di regolazione a Sarnico nel 1933 che ha permesso la pace e la fine degli scontri sanguinosi.
Per me questo fiume rappresenta un po' la mia infanzia in quanto ci ho passato molti pomeriggi con amici e parenti a fare il bagno e qualche grigliata, non vedo l'ora che arrivi l'estate per potermici tuffare dentro!
Since the Middle Ages this river was contested among the major powers of northern Italy until the dam of Sarnico was built in 1933 which allowed peace and the end of the bloody clashes.
For me this river represents a bit my childhood as I spent many afternoons with friends and relatives for a swim and some barbecues, I can't wait for summer to come back here!
