Hello everyone! Hope that you guys are all doing well!
A few months ago, my father in law and I started working on making our own garden for the summer. I actually wrote a post on that about a couple of months ago. Today I wanted to show our progress :) . It has been an interesting summer, as it started very dry. There was actually a bunch of wildfires in the states of Colorado and New Mexico so that was really scary :( . Then, I remember one day all over sudden there was a hail storm that knocked out a lot of our work :( . But recently, it has been actually raining quite regularly, so that is good, very good for the garden.
So as you can tell by now, we have been through quite a lot this summer! Even during difficult weather, my father in law would keep encouraging us to keep working on the garden. Then I realized one thing: passion and willingness to learn can take you long way!!!! :)
So here is part of what we have been able to grow folks. Enjoy!
Look at all my strawberries :)
Look at all my plants! :) We have lots of kale by the way
Notice that we use a lots of wood chips to keep the moisture for the plants. We bought the wood chips from a local store here :)
Look at the carrots! :)
Yes they really are growing aren't they? :)
Look at our tomatoes!! They are getting red!!!
The tomatoes are really growing like crazy!!!
Notice that we had to use sticks to prevent some of our plants from falling. The stems were already so long lol
Look at the radishes !!! They are getting huge!!! :)
Look at that nice kale!!!
And another one here!!!
Look at that chili!!!
The zucchini is getting huge as well! :)
Another type of chili!
Even more chili!!!
The cabbage was eaten last night by some kind of mysterious animal lol
Watching the garden grow and learning from my father in law's passion and enthusiasm really made me learn a lot. There are many things at the beginning of the summer that I didn't think was achievable, but here I am looking at this beautiful garden! Also, my daughter and my niece are both toddlers (less than 2 years old) and they enjoy gardening. They love to water the plants, taste some of the fruits, spend time outside so I think that this is great for their development! :)
Ok that was it for today folks! Hope that you guys enjoyed my post :) ! I will see you guys tomorrow!!
