Today was a beautiful afternoon and spending it inside my house would be such a sin. After a few very busy days, when I was attending TD Edmonton Jazz Fesival, I was committed to spend the free time in a more relaxing way - in one of the many parks Edmonton has to offer.
There I have noticed a very special tree, the larch tree.
I do not spot them often like spruce trees or the most common deciduous species. The most interesting thing about the larches is that they lose their needles in the autumn, even though they are conifers. Hopefully the autumn will not rush to visit us for a while ;)
Consider a tree for a moment. As beautiful as trees are to look at, we don't see what goes on underground - as they grow roots. Trees must develop deep roots in order to grow strong and produce their beauty. But we don't see the roots. We just see and enjoy the beauty. In much the same way, what goes on inside of us is like the roots of a tree.
