A pleasant day everyone! Today I am sharing about Hollyhocks. They are beautiful flowers in tall spikes. When we talk about germination, it will take 10-14 days for the seeds to sprout. Also, planting this will require patience since they do not bloom on their first year. They bloom the 2nd year from the day they got planted.
Hollyhocks has about 60 species and not only that, they are sun-loving plants too. They bloom crazy during hot summer days and would make a perfect garden ornamental. I think they kinda look like the rose of sharon flower or some hibiscus but anyway, bees love them and if you want a little help bringing out bees to pollinate your orchard, this flowering plant is a boost.
I did try to germinate them before, it was a success. There was no problem encountered however in the successive months of their growth, they caught some fungus or probably diseases and eventually died. It was a sad process. Anyway, I got another hollyhocks seed packet to plant soon. I just hope the rain won't stress them out soon because it was one of the reason that made them susceptible to fungus.
Thanks for reading and HAVE A GREAT DAY! :)
