Took a walk in the backyard on a nice clear crisp morning, after a few days of heavy rain. This bright Fungus caught my eye growing on a small but old looking piece of wood.
Fungi are not plants nor animals, they are classified in their own Kingdom. Like animals they absorb dissolved molecules by excreting digestive enzymes They are the number one decomposers in our ecological systems.
