Have you woken up one day wondering what animal you would have been if we humans existed as animals? I have pondered on this thought so much in my younger years and most recently the thought came back and decided to put it up for discussion on the Blockchain and see people's opinion all over the World.
Scientifically humans are Higher animals, but let's all imagine a parallel World where lower animal race takes over human as the dominant species, how man and woman, boys and girls will fair in the wild-how each would survive the different ordeal faced by this animals both in the Wild and in Civilization. Below are my illustrations of the animals i won't choose to switch place with, maybe it will help individual steemians reading this make their own choices too, read along.
NEVER GOING TO BE A BEAST OF BURDEN
Imagine one man or woman pulling a cart full of farm crops, or rocks for construction? That's if i decide to switch places with a Bull, a Donkey, Mule perhaps a Horse. This animals do not have their rest at will, except at night or when sick or wounded. No one in their right minds will choose to come as any animal in this Category.
DEFINITELY NOT A FISH OR MARINE/AQUATIC ANIMAL
Would you prefer to be culled in huge nets at the bottom of the Ocean in your comfort zone only to be frozen alive and packed to be shipped all over the World? What about as being a Lobster? One of the most favorite sea food- i definitely do not want to be boiled alive as a meal to feel someone's bowels up.
And i seriously do not want to be caged in a glass cage- Aquarium. Be poked around by some kids or be placed in a gigantic Glass Tank and be displayed at a Zoo with hundreds of eyes gawking at me expecting some Stunts moves.
WOULD YOU PREFER TO BE AN ANIMAL FOR SPORTS?
Hello No!
Nobody wants to be a Hare or Rabbit that is been chased by dozens of Bloodhounds and Greyhounds for game. This Dogs rips the Hare/Rabbit apart in one bite if caught on the open field, the well trained ones brings them back to their masters for a Roast!
What about a Reindeer or Snow Dogs? Why would anyone wants to be pulling a sleigh around in a freezing Temperatures in the hunt for something they couldn't find in the Summer? Or a Horse for a Polo game that gets bashed with polo-balls and sticks, gets kicked and whipped by their riders.
Definitely not a Wild-Duck or Quail to be shot down in the air for aiming practice, then end up on the grill afterwards. And most definitely not Ram or a Wild Goat that fights at will for their owners in some parts of Africa.
OR A LAB ANIMAL?
This is one of the most dreaded, no human being should hope for such a switch into a Lab Rat/Rodents. You could imagine several serums being injected into Guinea-pigs just for Scientific Showmanship. All the deadly viruses had passed through Millions of Rodents(Dead and Alive) for research purposes.
Primates- Chimps, another group of Semi-higher animals not to be switched into as they are constant test subjects for Advance Scientific researches- for new antidotes and Chemical weapons.
SHOULD YOU CONSIDER BEING A PREDATOR?
Just a quick thought before this choice of Animals, does a predator has alternative means of feeding when there is no flesh to devour? No!
WHAT ABOUT A PREY/HERBIVORES?
A life designed to be hunted down every moment without no strong defensive mechanisms. Nothing else to eat except grazing on grasses, no deserts! No a choice to be considered by many i suppose.
SCAVENGERS?
Considering Vultures in all their magnificent in the Skies and their size, but never could hunt for their food but rely on other on dead animals to feed on and waiting for this animals to do the killing for them. What if other animals keeps burying their dead, then what is the faith of a scavenging animal which doesn't hunt for it's meals?...Not an Option!
ANYONE CONSIDERING BEING A REPTILE?
A life of slithering through nooks and crannies of the earth, always crawling on the belly and gathering hatred/enemies along from man and Beasts. Being a reptile is such a bad idea.
WOULD IT HELP BEING AN INSECT?
Chipping and whistling all through the night isn't that much of a task, but being food to all- Birds, Fishes, Animals, Humans is the scary part. Apparently this is not the best option yet, so far so good; switching into an insect is an instant death sentence!
I CHOSE TO BE AN EAGLE- A BIRD OF PREY!
After much considerations, i have briefly run through the pros and cons of all the Animals available for a switch. For me, i'll prefer to be an Eagle:
