This one was only temporarily detained, and then a quick photo shoot prior to release.
I absolutely love these Rough Green Snakes, and consider them to be one of the most beautiful in the area. If you missed my recent post about cool snakes, then you may not have seen this one yet. Here's the video from that post if you want to check it out.
Yeah, there were a few other recent snakes in the area, plus I saw some huge water snake at the lake last night, so I'll try to head back there soon. Anyway, here are the release photos of this beautiful girl.
A PERSIMMON TREE?
At first I tried to release it in a young Persimmon tree. These snakes enjoy climbing through the trees, so I thought it might be a good fit. After a few photos, it seemed like I could do better, although the shots did turn out well.
BETTER YET - THE SNAKE GOURD VINES!!!
After I changed my mind about the Persimmon tree, I remembered our Snake Gourds! What a better place to release this beauty than in the Snake Gourd trellis? Sure enough, she looked right at home! Check it out!
As always, I'm
