The best way to start the free weekend? Breathing some fresh air in good company!
I went on a nature trail with good friends this morning. Sintra-Cascais natural park is the closest natural park from where we live, and it's a great place for a walk, just a few minutes from an urban setting.
These steep stairs mark the start to the nature trails, already overlooking the mountains; and they're far cooler on the way down! π
I took the bridge camera, because I wanted to try and take some photos for the #featheredfriends community. There are a lot of species in this area, but most are small passerines and couldn't bore my friends to death with a proper bird photo session. Almost no bird photos as a result, but still managed to witness a couple of common buzzards, their screeches echoing around us! One of them perched for a few moments in a distant rock.
And after a few seconds, off he went, gliding in the air.
Already inside the natural park, Quinta do PisΓ£o is a property with large paths and a good diversity of trails. It is also a common choice to do some bicycle rides, and I'll probably do it in the near future to get to know the rest of the place a little more, still a lot of unknown territory for me here.
Today thow, it was just a quiet walk, way longer than we had antecipated. But on a slow pace, good to watch the landscape and the local flora.
Even found oak-apples, which I haven't seen in a while!
And no, oaks don't produce apples! These formations are normally the result of contact with some species of wasps, that deposit their eggs on the tree; and this is how the tree tissues react to it!
With the world seeming more and more crazy nowadays, contacting with nature is surely a great way to calm the mind and focus on the important stuff. And some people take the crazy + nature part at a whole new level:
Slacklining like this is not for the fainted-heart, but I bet the view from there is awesome! π
Have a great weekend everyone!
