Hi there my Steemit friends and followers!
Just a couple of days ago, I informed you about the amazing plan by the Australian government to plant one billion trees by 2050 in this post and today, I am coming with another exciting piece of news on a similar topic but this time around, the news came from the capital city of my Czech homeland, making me even more stoked about it! :)

Prague authorities just announced that one million new trees will be planted in the city in just 8 years. Considering the fact that the total population of the Czech capital is some 1.3 million, there will be almost one new tree planted per inhabitant, which sounds like an epic greenery boost :)
The newly planted trees should be of various species to avoid monoculture problems and besides reducing air pollution in the city, the trees should also improve its landscape´s ability to retain rain water.
If you checked my recent post about some of the most beautiful natural places in Prague, you know that Prague is already quite a green city but once this ambitious plan gets implemented, it will be a true heaven for all those tree lovers and tree huggers out there ;)
