Let's face it... other than the spring storms, it's totally summer already here in Southern Missouri. And the only cure for that heat and humidity is, of course the river. Cheers to that!
We also spent 90% of our time last weekend at the river, which are the pictures I'm posting for you now. Even though it was a busy weekend because of Memorial Day, we have our "not so secret but still kinda secret" spot that tends to be less busy than most sites on the river. And it's only about 2 minutes from our house!
When I'm not actually in the river, I am lounging in my comfy river chair with my baby girl, Rhythm who seems to absolutely love being in the water! Yay! And she is a great swimmer as well! I just don't know what she will do while in a canoe... but that's something we'll have to find out later this summer.
This is me and my 15 year old son, Jaiden. And yes... he's already a head taller than his mamma... 😬 We like to take our river tubes and walk up the river a bit so that we can just relax and float back to camp! We just let the river take us and the current guide us! There are always beautiful views and relaxing sounds! Just don't let go or your tube will be down the river faster than you think! Haha!
Then on the drive home, I seen a bright orange patch next to some trees. When I got out to investigate, I found these poisonous beauties growing along side the road. They are often called Jack O'lantern mushrooms and can be easily confused with the Chanterelle mushrooms which are lighter and have false gills.
The river is always a fun adventure and now I have to go get everything together for yet another fun day in the cooling, healing waters of our Jacks Fork River! I hope your weekend is full of fun and adventure as well!
