Cathedral Grove in McMillian National Park is home to some of the largest and oldest trees on Vancouver Island.
There are many species of trees within the park but visitors come to see the giants. The ancient Douglas firs. The biggest trees in the Grove are about 800 years old and measure 75 m (250 ft) in height and 9 m (29 ft) in circumference. They are the survivors of a forest fire that ravaged the area 350 years ago.
I know people say they can feel the forest and the forest is alive. There is not a truer statement when it comes to this magnificent place.
Thanks for reading.
