Good morning Community of steemit, today I leave the topic of recommendations because I want to talk about one of the most known dog breeds, and yes, that unfortunately is being destroyed. So let's start!
The German Shepherd, that breed of dog whose origin goes back to 1899 created by Maximilian von Stephanitz with the purpose of caring the herds of the wolves, to be a strong race, with character and very loyal.
But why do I say that we are destroying it?
Well it turns out that this breed as it began to make canine beauty contests was deteriorating, selective breeding along with endogamy was significantly deteriorating its genetics, resulting dogs that looks good in appearance, but what they cause them is pain.
The constant mixing between relatives (even father and daughter) has been disastrous, leading to a lot of diseases such as hip dislocation, skin cancer, nervous temperament and generally a weakening of the body which makes life expectancy of this specimen is only about 10 years, and all this because the breeders are committed to making the dog more "beautiful" without taking into account all the diseases that this entails.
Generally the German Shepherd of beauty line has the hip very fallen causing them t problems to walk and to run, a finest and long snout, weak character, adding the diseases that I already mentioned
And you will wonder, but if the German shepherd has so many problems why the police uses them?
Well, fortunately this breed was divided into several of the best known ones (the one that shows a lot of inbreeding) German (similar to beauty but without less diseases) and work line (which are darker) Dogs used by the police are generally mixtures between them and other breeds of shepherds or directly just the line of work.
The line of work (the famous DDR) tends to show solid work structure, with heavy bones and huge heads and a strong temperament, clearly being healthier than the aforementioned since their breeders focus on work and not beauty.

Well, with nothing more to say I say goodbye and thank you for your support.
