Many people say that when they saw 2-3 caves, the next ones seemed almost identical and hard to impress them with anything. But with Prohodna it is far from being a cave that does not look like any other.
This is due to the phenomenon "The Eyes of God" or "The Eye" - two almost identical sized eye-shaped holes that have formed in the ceiling as a result of erosion. When you stand under them, the feeling is truly unique - eyes that seem to stare at you.
The geological phenomenon, which formed at the end of the Credit Period 66-68 million years ago, is 250 meters above sea level. In the past, the Iskar River has filled the cave, and now its level is below its floor. It is the longest cave tunnel in Bulgaria with a length of 365 meters and a height of the entrances 56 meters.
Prohodna is easily accessible, located near the village of Karlukovo, Lukovit municipality.
Enjoy the pictures, and at the earliest opportunity visit this magnetic spot.
Thank you for your time.
