Koper
Let me greet you with another post about my lovely Koper. I have always been so lucky to have chosen Slovenia as my volunteering country. Slovenia is a small country, packed with lots of amazing natural wonders. I would like to invite you to check my previous posts, I am sure you will find something interesting and maybe plan to pay a visit to this incredible country. In this post, I am going to introduce you a great city. Koper or Capodistria is a city in the southern part of the country. The city is really close to Italy and used to be an Italian city so it is not surprising to see someone speaking Italian or some signs around the city with the name of Capodistria.
Small but Lovely!
Even though it is really small, city offers you a great atmosphere to spend your day or week. The city is the mixture of Italian classical style and a modern city. It is the sixth biggest city in Slovenia and it manages to get attract tourists as it is one of the destinations for cruise ships. It is also a crossing point between Italy and Croatia so it is an ideal town to have a break and enjoy the sun by the Adriatic sea. It is has about 26.000 people living in this coastal city. It is not difficult to reach the city from Ljubljana, it is about 100 kms away from Ljubljana. There are buses to this city from the capital and other towns around Koper. While I was living in Slovenia, I used to hitchhike to this city. Slovenians love accepting hitchhikers!
Narrow Streets
The city is full of narrow and well-decorated streets. It is always a great idea to walk along the streets If you want to have the full experience of one place. You can grab some slovenian beer which is really amazing or baked goods and enjoy them while enjoying the nice climate in summer time. Personally, I wouldn't recommend you to visit Slovenia in winter time. If you have a plan to visit Slovenia or this city, you can write a comment and I can help you.
