Good morning, Steemians!
It's been raining a lot lately here in southwest Florida. It seems like it's almost been 24 hours straight. We're also supposed to get rain today and tomorrow, both days have a 100% chance.
I went out to the creek in front of the house and took some pictures. In the year we've been here, our neighbors who've lived here 30 years told us they never saw the creek so low (completely dry) during the drought we had earlier in the year, and now I can guarantee that this is the highest I've seen the water level in at least the year we've been here.
I wonder if this has anything to do with the hurricane hitting Texas. I doubt it, because I looked at a huge radar map of the whole gulf, and there's a patch of rain where I am, and then nothing until the hurricane off the coast of Texas. Maybe they're related somehow, but I don't see how.
This is great for our shallow wells, because last year, some people had them go dry. It's way too early to tell if that'll happen in the coming dry season, but these big rains give me a little peace of mind.
Be safe out there in Texas, I'll keep you all in my thoughts!
Thanks for stopping by, Steemians!
