Chickweed Moth
You can find Chickweed Moths flying during the day and night from mid April through October. Even though this is a common moth that can be seen in yards, meadows and fields, this is a first for me. The chickweed moth larvae like to feed on chickweed and clover. You just never know what visitors you will have when you leave the porch light on.
This pretty yellow and pink chickweed moth is a male. How do I know that? Because the antennae is feathery. Females have straight, thread-like antennae. This sure is an easy way to tell the difference in the sexes of this particular moth. And now you know.
Thanks for looking!
