After a warp-speed day yesterday full of cooking, snacking, drinking, laughing, and over-sized crossword puzzles -- the crew over here was feeling pretty drained. A slow morning and a light breakfast down, and we felt like heading outside for some fresh air.
Fresh air was had by all
We went to KLO Creek / Canyon Creek depending on who you ask. This place is, as the latter named suggests, a deep canyon with a creek running through in. On a hot summer day, this place is a trickling stream and a glorious shady reprieve from the hot summer sun. This time of year though, it's blanketed with heavy white snow and dead silent... Except for this guy:
Roadie telling the forest to get out of his way
We were all enjoying a bit of a slow walk through the forest, but you could tell that the dogs were getting a bit antsy -- I guess it still was -15° outside. They were shifting their weight from foot to foot to keep their little toes from getting too cold, and they didnt appreciate how narrow the trail had become wih the snowfall.
Traffic jam. Typical!
There were some sights that were worth slowing down and enjoying for a moment though. A couple cliffs, popular for sport climbing in the summer, and a couple creek crossings every few hundred metres.
KLO Creek, normalling running hard, taking a winter nap
I hope everyone else is enjoying their post-Christmas fallout and is getting a chance to slowdown and unwind. These boys are definitely getting comfy.
Get a job, slackers!
If any of you dont have the opportunity to get out in the snow right now, but DO have a GoogleCardboard headset or equivalent, below, you can see a short (45s) 360° video of some of our dogs running around:
