Before coming to Costa Rica I thought hummingbirds never stopped to rest while feeding but I am happy to say they quite often pause to sit on plants around the garden. The perfect moment to capture them in all their loveliness!
A tip for photographing dragonflies is to realize they often return to certain rest spots- usually the tops of sticks rather than leaves so if you see one sitting and it flies off, wait a few moments, size up the shot you want where you saw it sit as if it were still there, angle yourself for the best light and background and just wait. It will be quite likely to return.
The jungle is an endless source of life and inspiration. If you don't have jungle take a walk in your nearest woodland. The wildlife will delight you and the clean air will refresh you mentally. It always does!
