Yesterday was a bad day for the Big 10’s playoff hopes. Both of the Big10 juggernauts fell yesterday. Ohio State got stomped by Iowa and Penn State lost a close game to Michigan State. This leaves Wisconsin as the best chance for the Big 10, who remained undefeated with their win yesterday. Wisconsin’s problem is they have played a very weak schedule, which is coming back to haunt them.
What does this mean for the College Football Playoffs?? The Pac12 played their way out of the playoff several weeks ago. The Big10 in many ways played their way out this last weekend. To me, this means that both Georgia and Alabama get in to the playoff if they make it to the SEC championship without blemishes. This assumes that the championship game is not a blowout as well.
These are the teams I think make the playoff:
- Alabama (I think they beat Georgia in the SEC championship game)
- Georgia
- Clemson or Notre Dame
- Oklahoma or TCU
What do you think? I think some combination of these 6 teams gets in.
