Every time I hear someone thinks they are a complete failure for not knowing what to do with their lives, or mainly just not feeling like they are doing this whole life thing right, I tell them "that's okay, you are still growing."
And nobody says that.
It’s like as soon as you hit 18, you are all grown up. That's it. This is who you are, and there is nothing else in the world that will cause you as much pain as your teens did.
Wrong. You’re STILL growing up and figuring shit out. And that's completely fine.
A couple of days ago I was talking to my mother about this, and she said: "you know, I wonder what my 60s will feel like. Your 50s are a complete mess because you start to feel all the effects of getting old like body aches you aren't really used to, but I have a feeling my 60s are going to be great".
And it gave me one hell of a perspective.
Regardless of our age, we are still stepping into unknown ground. Yes, you are in your 50s, but you haven't been 60 yet, for obvious reasons so you can't possibly know how that's going to feel. Therefore, it's okay to feel a bit lost.
With that in mind, I embroidered this piece right here as a friendly reminder that you are allowed to feel lost and scared as years go by. It's normal to feel trapped from time to time.
This is my entry for today's #needleworkmonday, a project that encourages the crafters of Steemit to share their work. So, I invite you all to spread the word and join this growing community of crafters so we can inspire each other and, hopefully, create more art in the process.
