Happy #NeedleWorkMonday everyone! I wasn’t for sure if I would be posting this week or not but since there’s no baby yet here I am! You all know how much I wanted to get that baby blanket finished, Hooray that it is all DONE! Don’t worry I’ll be showing you the finished results in a later post. Thanks to for giving me the idea of showing you the finished blanket wrapped around the baby instead of by itself! 😃
The blanket took quite longer than I expected therefore I was not able to work on some of the other items I had in mind for her. I wanted to make her a dress, cardigan sweater and some lounge around pants. Instead I decided to do some quicker projects just in case she decided to make an early entrance. I got busy on making these newborn hats! They were quick and fun and I’m glad I got them finished.
As you can see I couldn’t leave them plain like this. They kept asking me to embellish them and make them glamorous 🤷🏽♀️. You only see two of the hats here because after I finished them I then decided to make one more since I had the time.
I used a basic newborn crochet pattern for these that I know by heart. I’ve been using the same pattern since making little hats. I’ll add a link at the end that’s pretty much the same pattern that I used so that you’ll have written out instructions. I used a size F (3.75mm) hook instead of size H (5mm) to get the finished size I was looking for which is a true newborn size and not a 0-3 month size.
Here are the crocheted flower petals before assembling. I tried making flowers like this when I first started crocheting but I could never sew them together correctly. I always thought this was the prettiest way to make flowers.
Here they are all wrapped up and ready to be sewn together. I’ll also include the link below for this flower pattern. When I have more time on my hands I want to create my own wrap up flower pattern! I love the way they turned out.
Here’s a few more pics from the photo shoot...
