This was a productive week of knitting. The Margaret Beaufort sweater is done except for buttons (need to find just the right ones) and here it is:
I also finished some worsted slipper socks from the book Knit Your Socks on Straight. Though I am quite comfortable with the traditional double-pointed needles in the round construction, I find it interesting (as a trained engineer) to try the other sock knitting methods. Having tried magic loop, two at a time, and several other methods, I now have done these socks on flat needles with a seam done in crocheted slip stitch:
Next week I start a new adventure teaching a class of middle school-age girls to knit on round looms. We will see how that goes!
