Hello Needleworkers all around the world!!!
While I was in Ioannina, my daughter, Lydia, had her 5th birthday! So, her sister, Ariadne, 7 years old, wanted to make a present for her!
She told me that we (me and Ariadne) can make a dress for her doll and a sofa and some pillows!!
So, she brought me this sleeve (it is from a dress that my mother used to wear when she was 15) and I searched through Internet to find an easy dress pattern since I wanted to make it by hand (my mother's sewing machine is old and is a bit disfunctional to small items).
So, I found this pattern and it is free and you can download it straight away! Simple, plain with front, back, sleeves and a skirt and a neck collar! as you can see in the photo
The problem was the handstitching... I handstitched for several hours (3!!) till finishing, so...I moved on to make the sofa and then I return to make the end of the dress!
So...SOFA!! Or COUCH!! If you see it ....
It is just two shoulder pads from an old dress stitched together!!!!
And the pillow... that Ariadne made is just a red plain fabric from upcycled clothing as well!
And then, I came back to the doll dress and finish the bottom....!
And I take photo in the exterior environment of my parents' yard!!
So, Lydia was happy....!!! Ariadne was...happy!!!Of course Ariadne told me to make an other one for her doll too, so now, that I am in Naousa, and I have my machine, it will be a piece of cake!!
That's all folks for today!! How do you think of my sewing transformations???
