Chapters read:
A Costly Mistake
Vision of Perfection
Master of the Blade
The Mire of Dras-Leona
I woke up the other day and noticed Christopher Paolini post something on social media that made me immediately purchase Murtagh and get the serious itch to continue reading Eragon....
It is so fascinating to me how powerful books are. But that's obvious to any fan of reading. What's extra fascinating is re-reading favorites after a decade plus and experiencing how the books make you feel as an older individual. I've harped on this notion many times before but as I read Eragon once again, this amazing feeling only intensifies.
It's like nostalgia on mega ultra steroids. Nostalgia can be a bad thing at times, being overly sentimental at inappropriate times can be rather pointless. But re-reading Eragon feels like a good nostalgia. It's beyond that word. I'm glad I'm re-reading these before I hit a new decade of life LOL. I'm understanding details of the book at a much more intelligent level I guess than when I read these back in the day.
The magnitude of Eragon's challenges are more recognizable to me. Perhaps because I have lived life with ACTUAL challenges, whereas when I read these as a kid my life's problems were different and much less numerically speaking.
The amount of mystery this book provides is so amazing. Fundamentally, Eragon is better than I remember and does it's job beautifully. Knowing how these four books play out, it's fascinating to see just how far Eragon will come.
Eragon is hunting while also being hunted, while learning well, everything.
One of my favorite parts from these four chapters is when Eragon scrys various people, including I believe to be Arya I'm guessing?
Another favorite part is them approaching Leona Lake and Dras-Leona. The lake seems amazing and Dras-Leona is much grittier and more intense than I remember!
Posting these pictures as I read and blog really brings these books to life as well.

Gosh I cannot wait until Murtagh gets here, plenty of reading to do until then.
