One last blast for the summer
This is the last blast before summer. The weekend will be about 100 so it certainly feels like summer and not fall. I left straight from work and headed off to the river with the family.
Friday Night Fishing
We got out earlier enough friday that we were able to hit the river and beach before sunset. We went out to see how many campers were out and to my suprise there were almost none and our favorite beach was open.
I was pretty lucky and got some fishing on before we had to head back. I would find out later the water levels have changed since my last visit and I was fishing in only 3_4 get off water, but I guess with the swing sun the big fish were on shallow chasing the bait fish. I managed to get two bass a 13 and a14 inch bass
Both were really nice fish and butter than I normally catch. I was sorry strikes to start the weekend like my this
Sat sunrise fishing from the docks
I wake up early because I never get tired of seeing the sun rise here. I just love it. I also pretty much always fish when I am free so I put the pile in the water.
I managed to get a few bites and watch a great sunrise at the the same time.
Fishing from the beach.
Got back to the same beach and I was hoping for a repeat of the prior night and prior trips. No such luck but I did make to catch a few fish.
I got a few small smallmouth and then got as really nice size sheephead. While not a fish I target or keep, it was late and hard fighting, not much to complain about.
Baby Turtle
I also happened s across this baby turtle, it was crazy looking. Looked closer to a dinosaur than a turtle. Check this guy out!!
A little boat fishing
My oldest wanted to fish even though it was pushing tripple digits, and of course I said yes. We got a few small perch, sunfish, and this decent sheep head. My son caught all the fish as I was too busy trying to control the boat in some wind and missed my chances.
the rest of the day, groceries, tubing and relaxing.
When it was to hit, we went to town for some groceries and drinks and the drive b in circles for an hour pulling them on tubes. Fishished off fishing from the dock for a bit and then cleaning up. I was beat and drained from the heat, and had to get up for the sun rise again the next day.
Hoping Sunday is a repeat and my parents can come watch the kids have fun.
