Digging Through the Chest to find something
Happy weekend stackers. I hope everyone is having an excellent weekend and out enjoying some nice weather or digging through your treasure chests. I'm doing a bit of each and I'm hoping to get back online a bit more active. It seems that I have taken about a month off inadvertently from on chain and it's time to get back. I was cleaning up the office today and decided to dig through my treasure chest a little bit to see what I could find an I found this cute little 1 oz bar to show and tell today
2017 Provident 1oz year of the Rooster
I have no idea where I picked up this 2017 Providence year of the rooster bar. It is a great little 1 oz bar made by provident metals. When I picked it up it already came in a nice enclosed hard case. Personally most of the night alive by I like to have out free and exposed for the air and more importantly fingers so I can pick them up and handle them. Wow they look nice and feel sleek in the capsules, they feel better when you get a little silver on skin action.
Obverse
This is a great design with a huge rooster right on front of the bar. I think it is fairly good
Details of the rooster. I like that you can see the feathers bird has some character to it. One of the benefits to be modern bars as they seem to have much more detailed strikes than the older coins. I'm sure it has to do with the technology today and a lower cost to produce but either way I'm kind of a fan since the more detailed strikes at times look better.
Reverse
Not much to say about the reverse honestly. Not really a fan of the crazy busy design that just fills up the entire back of the bar but that's not really what it's being sold for. The only thing I noticed I'm looking at the back is it appears there's a f****** dirt inside my case and that I should probably take care of that sometime or put it back in the treasure chest and ignore it.

Need to get to the LCS when they are open - Few hours is marking it harder.
I'm a little ashamed to admit that it's been a long long time since I've been to a local coin shop to buy any silver gold pneumatics. It's not that I don't want to add to my stack it's more I have chosen to spend all of my money elsewhere for the summer mostly on vacations and camps for the kids. Open to get back into it this fall things slow down a bit and I can find some cool pieces to add. To be honest when I have gone online and looked at haven't found any excitement in the new rounds. You know, I just haven't been excited to buy into the next series that has higher premiums if they're trying to push the flexibility of that I'm not sure will be collectible 3 years down the road.
I do have a friend who is looking at opening up their own coin shop and we're meeting for lunch in a couple of weeks while I had already planned to buy in a few coins from him for my kids collection I recently told him just to make me up a $50 grab bag of whatever he wanted to sell. Us or foreign didn't matter older is better than newer, silver or not silver is fine I'm just excited to get something. And it'll be more fun to get anything than if I picked something. See if I make this a trend with him and just always do a grab bag versus me trying to buy specific point
I hope all the pound silver gold stackers have a great weekend and I hope you all get your stack on.
