Just finished binge watching the fourth season of The Sinner, a crime/detective/drama show that I have mostly enjoyed watching in the past few years.
Imo, the first season (which was based on a book or something) was a masterpiece and it's a must watch for anyone! The show was supposed to end there but the ratings were so good that here we are...in season 4. Season two btw was pretty good, but I found season three quite meh.
All seasons follow the same theme. Harry Ambrose (Bill Pullman), a police detective investigates cases that turn out to be way bigger and more complex than what they initially seem, and all that while fighting his inner demons...Other than Pullman, most of the cast changes for each season's story.
So.. Season 4.. What can I say.. I really liked it! Bill Pullman was great as always, and the girl playing Percy, the main victim/protagonist was really good too, like the rest of the cast.
I also found the case/mystery quite interesting and enjoyed all the subplots, mini stories and twists! It wasn't a masterpiece like season 1 but it was a pretty solid season. I never got tired or bored and watched one episode after the other when I had spare time.
I also enjoyed the character development of Pullman and how we got some closure on his demons.. Depending on how you interpret the ending that is :)
I doubt we are getting a season 5 and imo that is a good thing. The show had mostly good moments, some bad and still managed to almost make a full come back after the meh third season.
For the most part, it has been a great show. If you are into crime/detective shit season one is a must watch!
