Coming from a developing country, "Nepal" we are facing countless issues on our daily life. Among them, International payment gateway is one of them. Due to the development of information technology people have become much aware of the quality products and countless available alternatives on the e-commerce sites like ebay and amazon compared to what is available in the market which are dominated by India & China. People want to have better options but are limited to a handful of alternatives due to the restrictions held by our national bank on international payment gateway. Unlike most of the countries, The Credit and Debit cards issued by the banks in the nation are accepted in India only. We can't purchase anything from online stores around the world unless any family members who are staying abroad makes the payment.
According to NRB (Nepal Rastra Bank) the central bank of Nepal, Restrictions on International payment gateways will help them control the money which is being paid overseas. On the other hand people are making online purchase illegally from overseas using payment gateways from other countries paying high commission for the transaction, which means even more money is being sent overseas which is beyond control of NRB itself. If the decision making people around NRB would have been wise to work around this issue, people would use the payment gateway inside the country and the extra commission people are paying to other gateways would have stayed inside the country with even more business opportunities would be created.
It's like hide and seek game going around where decision makers and civillians are fooling around each other.
