Every once in a while a topic for the daily blog finds its way with difficulty out of my mind.
Today was one of those days.
As I was scratching my head, wondering what else is there to talk about, something popped up.
It's interesting how this mind works. I assume it went from my struggle to find something to talk about and associated it with a time it happened before. More often that is.
And that time was when I first started on Steem. Although I had some experience blogging at the time, it wasn't a daily habit and that was really an issue for me coming up with a new post every day.
Now, not so more. Consistency starts to pay off.
But that's what I assume was the connection my mind made, then from there it jumped to new people joining Steem and their introduction posts.
And so I remembered I haven't paid a visit to the introduceyourself tag in quite a while to read a few introductions and welcome people on Steem.
So I did that.
Maybe it's been quite a while since I've done that, but I found this tag quite abused, more than I remembered.
That's a shame people do that, because this way new steemians for which this tag was created and their introduction posts get lost in the sea of unrelated posts.
Of course I checked the new posts, not the already trending ones, because those were already filtered probably quite well by these posts that abuse the tag.
Until we have communities introduced to the blockchain, I doubt there's anything that can be done about it (more than it is via flagging/cleaning services). It's just a matter of common sense and people wanting to keep their ecosystem clean.
Anyway, at least every once in a while I think visiting this the introduceyourself tag should be on everyone's agenda.
It's nice to meet the new blood of Steem and see their aspirations and what they expect from Steem and the community, and what they can bring in.
