Matthew 9:36 ; Matthew 5:1-20
One time I was in a restaurant, lining up at the fried chicken store when I noticed a woman wearing rumpled clothe (beggar) outside the store near at the chicken booth. Her face and body has a lot of scars. Then nung kinuha ko na yung food ko, i've noticed na nakatutok pala sya sakin tas nanghihingi ng pagkain. Natakot ako at inikot ko yung upuan ko towards another angle which I can no longer see her. While kumakain ako, I was surprised after I take a glance and found her sitting with a little baby on her lap on the other side of the road. This really melt my heart kase inaalagaan nya nang maayos yung baby nya and all she wanted to have is food to survive for this day.
Jesus encountered people whose outward appearance could have turn him away, including the demon possesed man ( as in the book of Mark 5 says) yet instead of avoiding those people ( napaka holy man ni Jesus and those people were dirty and scary) yet Jesus saw their heart needs and met them. Jesus never fails to see us with love, even though we have scars of sin and a ragged clothes with unfaithfulness. Jesus did not care how dirty nor smelly we are because he loves us and he wanted us to do the same especially those who are in need. May the Lord help us to replace our fears, haughtiness with Jesus heart of Love. Because if we look through the eyes of Jesus, you will see a needy world.
