Don’t get discouraged if you’re not raking in the dough within your first month - or first couple of months even. Steemit is a long term investment not a get rich quick scheme.
Stick with it and Just Keep Steemin' !!
Steemit is a unique social media platform - Quality over Quantity is a major building block. Most of us are not here so we can make it rain at the club. Most of us value our Steem Power and leave our STEEM within the platform - creating more for everyone. We are here for the long run and love what the blockchain stands for: decentralized information, autonomy, transparency, among others. Believe it or not, we are building the future here and we want to bring value back to the individual and give fair pay for hard work.
As in real life, Networking and Relationships will make or break you - really reading the posts and creating real conversations in the comments sections will earn STEEM/SBD much more consistently than spamming out 25 posts of one liners.
While we’re on the topic of post content, let’s go over a few tips I’ve seen recycled all over the platform:
Source your images/videos/content!
If it’s your own creation let us praise you for it - but - if you’re borrowing someone else’s hard work you really need their permission and need to give them credit! This is not some trivial rule - it is common sense and respect. (something the world needs more of which we all work hard to provide here at Steemit)
Never outright ask for Upvotes and/or Follows.
It is simply poor etiquette and comes off as laziness, in my opinion. Ask for advice, sure! Ask to be friends, why not! If you strike up an honest conversation you’re more likely to get that person over to your blog and upvoting your content. We reward hard work, compassion and honesty here!
If you’re just typing out Great Post! or Nice! or any other one liners and clicking that Post button - STOP!
Stop it right now. That Steemian slaved over that post! Their getting carpal-tunnel so you have something to read! Most of us spend a decent amount of time crafting our posts so please don’t fluff your comment - you’re telling that person “I did NOT read this.” Comments are crucial people! Take the extra 30 seconds and type out something with some heart behind it.
Take some TIME to form and create your posts.
Yeah, we all know - you’re busy. I’m busy too. There just aren’t enough hours in the day however if you etch out at least 20 minutes of your busy ass day to sit down and design your post I guarantee you’ll see more upvotes. Everyone can tell you rushed your post dear. Maybe you only want to touch on a subject or bring up a quick talking point - that’s fine! Do that with some class and respect for your readers!
With ALL that outta the way I want to drop a few helpful links for all you Newbies.
These are all geared towards new users and contain a plethora of useful information. I urge you to read these posts and if you choose, follow the authors, they are all wonderfully helpful people.
