The news of grief comes from the world of basketball. Former New York Knicks forward in the era of the 50s, Jerry Bird, age, Monday (17/07/2017).
Bird breathed his last at the age of 83 years in his hometown of Corbin, Kentucky. Bird once helped Kentucky win two titles in 1954 and 1955.
Bird recorded entry into the Hall of Fame UK in 2005, then the number of jersey 22 he used to wear with Kentucky officially retired.
In 1958, Bird was officially uniformed in the New York Knicks. Throughout his career, Bird scored 713 points and 589 rebounds alongside legendary coach Adolph Rupp.
Bird has three brothers named Salvin, Rodger and Billy who are all in the sport. Bird died leaving a wife (Lisa), one child (Steve) and two grandchildren.
