So, what is happening in Yemen nowadays?, and what about the Humanitarian Situation out there ? !
Yemen was on the threshold transition to the modern civil state just After the completion of the comprehensive National Dialogue Conference NDC, and came out with the National Document that formulated and defined the features of the new Yemen, which later became the source of drafting a new constitution for the country.
Constitution drafting process was completed in 2014 and the Yemenis had a date with a referendum on that draft to pass it into the new constitution of the new federal Yemen.
But
All that dreams evaporated with the first round of the conflict which started on September 2014, when the Houthies (Rebels Backed by Iran ) took control of the capital, Sana'a, then the conflict take place to spread on all over Yemen regions.
Humanitarian Crises
Since the conflict started, Yemenis are suffering many crises, humanitarian is the most important one, which can be described in;
- poverty rate have been increased to the surge numbers, with more than 22 million people in need of humanitarian aid, 11 million of whom in need an urgent humanitarian assistance, according to the UN statistics
- At least one child dies every ten minutes in Yemen due to starvation, according to the UNicef records.
- Continuation of the war so far, which leads to increase the number of civilian and children victimsز
- More than two million have been displaced because the ongoing war in Yemen.
- Business and all jobs have been cut, increasing the unemployment rate.
As the war in Yemen continuing, people in Yemen will keep suffering famine and will keep fleeing the country searching for safety and the means of survival.
