BEIRUT, LEBANON (4:10 P.M.) – The jihadist rebels of Hay’at Tahrir Al-Sham launched a wide-scale campaign, Sunday, to crackdown on Islamic State (ISIL) sleeper cells across the Idlib Governorate.
According to the Al-Qaeda group’s official media wing, large convoys of fighters began storming various towns and villages where ISIL sleeper cells were believed to be in the Idlib countryside.
The Al-Qaeda group claimed that they have already arrested over 100 suspects, including Abu Ibrahim Al-Iraqi and seven of his bodyguards.
Earlier in the week, Hay’at Tahrir Al-Sham launched a similar operation near the Turkish border, arresting nine suspected members of the Islamic State at the town of Salqin.
