BEIRUT, LEBANON (3:45 P.M.) - An Egyptian military court sentenced 17 people to death on Thursday after they were found guilty for carrying out the church bombings in 2016 and 2017, state-owned MENA reported.
The MENA report added that 19 others were handed life prison terms for their involvement in these church bombings.
The three bombings targeted the Coptic Orthodox churches in the Egyptian capital of Cairo, Nile Delta city of Tanta, and historical city of Alexandria.
The so-called "Islamic State" (ISIS) claimed responsibility for these terrorist attacks.
